First trip to Brecon Beacons. Peter has cleverly transformed what is essentially a retirement property into a modern bolthole for adventurers. Great toasty fire, very well equipped and spotless. A fantastic newly decorated and well equipped place with plenty of space and cosiness as well. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood right next to the walking trails for the local waterfall walks and not far from local pubs in the village. The host was friendly and responsive. Definitely a great base for exploration of Brecon Beacons! We loved the warmth of the fireplace after all day of hiking.

A lovely well equipped cottage. This cottage had everything we needed for a short stay and was the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas. The outside eating space is an added bonus along with the bike store that we were able to use. The whole family (2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog) loved our stay and would definitely recommend the cottage.

We had an amazing time! Peter was very quick to respond, and beloe you'll find some very nice surprises that definitely make this airbnb stand out.

There are only 3 issues with this property:

    1. The driveway is very steep and narrow. For someone in a rental car they are unfamiliar with, it's a bit scary. Take it slow and don't panic!

    2. The living room & bathroom are lit a... read more

  • Brilliant location, with a clean and modern interior. Enough room for 6 adults without feeling too cramped. Walks in the local area are stunning and the village is very easy to get to from the main roads. Will certainly look into coming back to this property or one of Peter's other properties in the area.

Convenient location for visiting what the Swansea area has to offer.

The place is comfortable, well equipped and has all the amenities you would expect. Spacious enough for two of us and a great all round stay.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for a long weekend. We both had high expectations after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures and the cottage definitely lived up to these expectations. It was cosy, clean and modern and the log burner topped it all off. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about staying here!

  • We picked this place due to the location between the Brecon Beacons and the Gower. Ideal as both are only a short drive. It's quiet and clean with modern amenities so can't ask for much more. We visited the cave centre, local walks and waterfalls, primate sanctury, Gower and Tenby during our stay. Would recommend if that's the kind of thing you are after or just to chill out... read more

  • This is a beautiful house to stay in. The balcony with a cascading waterfall in itself is a huge treat. We could not have asked for any more from the facilities and amenities. Peter has provided plenty of local information for anything anybody could wish to do near Pontardawe while staying. We highly recommend Nant Cottage to anyone interested in this area.

If you are looking for a perfect base to explore this part of the Brecon Beacons this is the place for you!

Pete's home is right by the trail heads, and perfectly set up for a group adventure. Spotlessly clean, well equipped, and a good size for 6 people.

The waterfall hikes are stunning, with lots of opportunities for wild swimming along the way. We'd never been to this part of the... read more

This cottage was more than I could've asked for. I sought a relaxing vacation with nature walks without having to rent a car, and this cottage is perfect, cozy, and comfortable. Local woodland trails are literally at your doorstep, and Brecon Beacons National Park is accessible by bus. Peter was very helpful with suggestions, and stocks an immense resource collection for trip planning. The cottage was clean, luxurious, and well-equipped.... read more

  • The photos don't do the place justice! It's really nice and isolated for those much needed getaways from the hustle and bustle of life. Peter is an awesome host who was happy to help at every turn. Very accommodating. Can't wait until time permits for me to visit again!

Perfect for what we needed. Close to the waterfalls, amazing scenery right there a short hike away. Really big place, nice fireplace, great kitchen, good outdoor space. Everything worked as described, place was nicer than expected. Definitely recommend and would even go back as there are so many things to see and do in the brecon beacons.

This is a really well appointed property with lots of homely touches. As well as the convenient location for exploring South Wales the fact that the property has everything you might want for a stay away means a lot of the stress of travel is taken away and you can concentrate on enjoying yourselves. We particularly appreciated the well fitted out kitchen which meant catering was utterly straightforward and sociable,... read more

Waterfall Country

Located right on the south-westerly edge of the National Park this area is truly one of the splendours of Wild Wales and amongst the most beautiful and popular parts of the National Park. Here the rivers Mellte, Hepste, Pyrddin and Nedd-fechan wind their way down deep, tree-lined gorges, over a series of dramatic waterfalls, before joining to form the River Neath. The water creates a humid and wet atmosphere and the steep sides shelter the area from sun and wind. This warm and wet environment is filled with plant life covering every available surface. It is a Welsh rainforest, far more scarce than the more familiar tropical rainforest. There are only a handful of places like it anywhere in the world.
